A pioneer of Miyetti Allah cows reproducers in Benue State, Garus Gololo, has unveiled that herders assaulted a few groups in the state as backlash for charged robbery of cows.

Herders had assaulted groups in Guma and Logo nearby government regions of the state between Monday, January 1 and Tuesday, January 2, leaving some dead.

Addressing BBC Pidgin, he clarified that the herders were just protecting themselves from cheats. The herder asserted that more than 1000 dairy animals were stolen at Nengere, a group in the state when the herders were moving out of Benue to Taraba state.

Gololo stated: "As we dey migrate go Taraba State through Nassarawa State, for bordertown of Nengere, cheat come gather 1000 dairy animals from us, so we sef battle dem back."

He uncovered that the emergency broke out while the herders were endeavoring to ensure and shield themselves and their property.
