President Muhammadu Buhari's media assistant has rejected the implications that the President was approving killings by herdsmen since he is a Fulani.
Numerous Nigerians have scrutinized the President for not taking radical measures to diminish the executioner herders, who have assaulted and murdered scores of individuals in Benue, Taraba and Adamawa states, since he (Buhari) expected office on May 29, 2015.
Be that as it may, Femi Adesina, in a video message he posted on his Facebook account on Wednesday, said such killings by herders originated before the Buhari organization. "Something that is exasperating that I have caught wind of is connecting those advancements to the way that a Fulani man is president thus he is brooking such sort of shrewdness acts," he said.
"I feel that is exceptionally unkind. Furthermore, I will attempt to back my position with insights.
"In 2013, especially, there were nine instances of herders attacking groups in Benue state alone and more than 190 individuals were slaughtered.''
Talking further, the presidential helper said that in 2014, there were around 16 of such grievous advancements with more than 231 individuals executed.
"Presently, the inquiry is, amid that period, did we have a Fulani president? This is demonstrating to us that the issue of herders assaulting settlements, assaulting ranchers, assaulting groups is unadulterated guiltiness and it is something that administration must manage," he included.
"It is the obligation of government to protect the lives of the citizenry. It is the duty of government to keep up peace and that this administration is resolved to do.
"Along these lines, let no one say that this is occurring in light of the fact that we have a Fulani president.
"We have had numerous Fulani presidents previously and this issue of herders and neighborhood groups at loggerheads has originated before this administration.''
