The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has denied hypotheses that the Continuous Voter Registration exercise would end in January.

INEC started the activity in April, 2017. The electoral body said it was proposed to manage the cost of every qualified Nigerian, 18 years or more, who did not enlist in past activities, the chance to do as such whenever the timing is ideal.

"As accommodated in Section 9 (5) of the Electoral Act (as amended), the CVR will be incidentally suspended 60 days to the initiation of the following General Elections booked for February 2019. The activity will continue after the finish of the races," it said in an announcement.

"Up until this point, more than four million Nigerians have enlisted the nation over. The Commission wishes to guarantee every single qualified Nigerian that the CVR practice is intended to proceed inconclusively as imagined by the Electoral Act 2010 (as amended).

"The Commission thus urges every qualified Nigerian to enlist at our workplaces in all neighborhood government central command and other formally assigned regions the nation over in the vicinity of 9am and 3pm, Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays. Full data about the designated areas can be obtained or can be gotten from our state workplaces."
