Huawei technology, a good partner of Etisalat Nigeria - now known as 9mobile, which recently sacked over 100 Nigeria engineers from their company. Meanwhile, this action was taken by the company due to the termination of all service contracts by Etisalat Nigeria due to the recent name change.
It would be recalled that the main reason why the parent company withdraw from its board and management was the Nigerian business unit of the Etisalat International which is currently plagued with over $1.2 billion debt crisis.
A stakeholder in the company, Mr Koledade Owa, Chairman of Private Telecommunications and Communications Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PTECSSAN) stated that workers have worked for eight good years in the organisation and were unduly sacked.
"While our members were doing their work on Thursday and Friday, they got a phone call that they have been sacked and were asked to vacate the premises," Owa said.
Meanwhile, new management of 9mobile and Nigeria communication commissions (NCC) had earlier promised to do everything to ensure there is no job loss due to the present crisis the company is facing.
