Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, has said a new Ogoga of Ikere Ekiti, the traditional ruler of the town, will be named and installed within the next 14 days.
The governor made the pronouncement after a meeting with the kingmakers and other leaders from the community last Saturday at the Government House, Ado Ekiti.
This will put to rest the lingering crisis that have followed the selection of Prince Adejimi Adu as the Ogoga-elect after the demise of Oba Adegoke Adegboye, from Akayejo dynasty, on August 22, 2014 at the age 85.
According to a press statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr. Idowu Adelusi, on Sunday in Ado Ekiti, 14 king makers present at the meeting explained how 10 had voted to select Adu.
A source at the meeting told our correspondent that the governor called for a fresh election in his presence.
“The Governor, who said his mission was to find out the truth, called for another round of election in his presence. Out of the 13 kingmakers present, 10 stood up in support of Adejimi while three stood up for the opposing camp.
“Leaders at the meeting charged Adejimi to bring all the warring factions in the dispute together if he is eventually announced as the new Oba for the community,” the source added.

Adelusi in the statement added that the governor advised those who may not be satisfied with the decision that would be made to approach the court rather than embarking on crises.
“The governor noted that the security agency will not allow anyone to throw the community, and by extension, the state into chaos, saying the peace of the state was paramount to him.
“Fayose reteirated that he has no preferred candidate and would rather follow the decision of the kingmakers which by tradition is vested with power to select the new Ogoga,” he added.
