The Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC) has urged traders in the Sokoto business community to improve their export trade facilitation mechanisms.

According to NAN, Dr Ezra Yakusak, Chief Executive Officer of NEPC, made this call at a stakeholders’ sensitization workshop on the advantages of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCTA) on Tuesday in Sokoto.

Yakusak, represented by Ahmad-Sakaraiju, NEPC Trade Adviser in charge of the Sokoto Zonal Office, highlighted the advantages of trade facilitation and its benefits to the country’s economic growth.

He noted that there are great gains for the business community through the use of the law and urged stakeholders to educate others to explore the huge opportunity.

“There are great potential gains from trade facilitation for both the government and the business community.

“Efficient and transparent delivery of public services will allow the administration to maintain high-security levels and effective government control,” he said.
