35-year-old man, Babalola Lekan, was shot dead by a rival cult gang on Friday in Osogbo, the state capital of Osun State.

Lekan was about 2:30 pm at Asoje area, shot by unidentified cultists during a supremacy gun battle.

The Police Public Relations Officer in Osun State, Yemisi Opalola, in a signal made available to DAILY POST, confirmed the incident.

DAILY POST had reported a cult violence that erupted in March which claimed several lives.

“The corpse of the deceased has been deposited at UNIOSUN Teaching Hospital mortuary, Osogbo. Meanwhile, the police are on the trail of the cultists,” Opalola stated.
