It was learnt that the suspect and his gang have been terrorizing Umuchoko, Agunaze, Ahiazu Mbaise community. The suspect sustained serious injuries from the angry mob that led to his death before the arrival of the police. The police recovered one locally made double barrelled short gun with two live cartridges in his possession. All efforts to resuscitate him proved abortive, as the police confirmed him dead on arrival at the Specialist hospital, Owerri. They were allegedly responsible for the various robbery and murder cases in which one Chigozie Onyenemegam was murdered in front of Federal High Court, new Owerri on 26/6/2016, the murder of one Lucky at Umuonyeche in Owerri on 17/9/2016 as well as the murder of one Goodluck David of Oguamanam Street, Owerri. Targeted areas where the suspect and his gang operated include: Umezuruike street, Amaigbo street, Enereji street, Royce road, Oparanozie street, Oguamanam Street, School road, Lobo street, Shopping plaza Douglas, etc. Other members of his gang still at large are been hunted by the Police. The Imo state police command has urged the general public to report any useful information of the other members of his gang to the nearest Police Station or contact the Imo State control room number on 08034773600.
