About 50 shops were in the early hours of Thursday razed by fire in a community Market at Gwargwaje in Zaria local government area of Kaduna State.
According to
DAILY POST , the inferno started between 2.30 and 3am in the morning.
An eye witness and one of the victims, Mallam Musa Urwatu, explained that property worth millions of Naira were lost to the inferno without any loss of life.
Mallam Urwatu alleged that the incident could be attributed to negligence of a woman who was frying beans cake ( Akara) at the Market in the night.
He explained that the lady might have mistakenly forgot to quench remnants of the fire used after the close of her business on Wednesday night.
The victim called on the state government to come to their aid as all their property were destroyed by the inferno and they have nothing left to continue with their business.
