Vanguard learned that the pastor was preparing for the workers meeting, yesterday, when some people came in pretending to be members who had come to worship, but reportedly pulled out guns and whisked him away. According to a church member, Williams, the pastor was kidnapped at about 7a.m. around Santos Bus Stop, Isawo, because the workers meeting always holds before the day’s service and the pastor had to be in church much earlier. William said: “He was busy preparing for the meeting, when suddenly some people came in dressed in beautiful attire and they were taken for members who had come to worship. It was not until they pulled out guns before it dawned on us that they are militants.” Lamenting, a resident in the area, Isiaka Disu, said kidnapping was now a daily occurrence in Isawo area in Ikorodu. He called on the Lagos State government and the police to find lasting solution to the menace. The resident said: “There is need for improved security in Ikorodu axis. It has become worse in the last one year. Does it mean that militants came all the way from Niger Delta to kill people?” When contacted, Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Dolapo Bamus, said she would get back to Vanguard with details. She had not done so at press time.
