During the morning of Thursday, March 16, police officers from the Sûreté du Québec (SQ) of the MRC of Lac-Saint-Jean-Est carried out four drug searches in the Alma sector.

During the search, law enforcement seized more than 100 methamphetamine pills, more than 80 grams of cocaine, illicit cannabis, hashish, GHB, prescription drug pills, approximately $1,500 Canadian dollars, nearly 400 contraband cigarettes and equipment used in the sale of narcotics.

They also arrested three women and one man, all aged 38 to 64, who were released and are expected to return to court at a later date for further proceedings. They will face narcotics charges that will be filed against them.

The searches in the Alma sector were carried out in homes located on rue Harvey, rue Fillion and avenue des Métiers.
