Fulani herdsmen on a Thursday morning, attacked Amagu Attakwu community of Akegbe-Ugwu in Nkanu West Local Government Area of Enugu state, killing a Seminarian of the Catholic Church and several other villagers.


The rampaging herdsmen, who were armed to the ¡®teeth¡¯ invaded and started shooting and maiming anybody in sight.


One of the victims, a seminarian who is said to have just returned from his apostolic work, only to meet his death in the violent raid and assault by herdsmen.


A community source said; ¡°they just came early this morning and started killing people.

There is confusion everywhere now; people are running helter-skelter.¡±

Eye witness SPYLOADED reporters, that some of the victims were rushed to different hospitals in Enugu metropolis where they are currently receiving medical attention.

¡°This early morning around 4.am at
Emergency Unit, Enugu State University Teaching Hospital(ESUT), Parklane, Enugu, two of the victims were rushed here while two others were taken to Mother of Christ Hospital, Enugu.

¡°They were attacked in their village by Fulanis in early this morning, a Seminarian who is among the victims, just came back from Break yesterday evening only to meet his death this morning.

He was butchered like a cow meat and he died instantly.

¡°There was a lady here and her mother are in the same condition with their intestines all cut out.

A pregnant woman was also badly injured on her forehead and some others who are lying critically helpless in the hospital.¡± he added.
