Witnesses told SaharaReporters that the policemen from Area Command, Ikire Zone on Tuesday evening bought three pieces of fried meat which cost N200 each but paid N500 which was rejected by the woman’s son. The rejection was said to have angered the officers who harassed the young boy. One of the policemen identified as Samson Kudaisi also injured the woman with knife immediately she came out to query them for not wanting to pay the required amount for the meat. An eyewitness said, “These police officers came here, so the woman’s son sold three pieces of meat to them, they gave him N500 instead of N600 for three pieces of meat. The boy asked them for the N100 change and they refused. “The boy asked them to balance the money; they told him he was mad, that they were police officers and shouldn’t have paid at all. So the boy went inside to meet his father and mother that the officers did not want to pay; as the woman came out, the officers started beating the small boy that he went to call his parents. “Before we know what was happening, one of them brought out a tear gas and released it on the woman. People gathered there to ask what happened, during that process, one of them brought out a knife and used it on the woman who just had an operation.”
