A tragic event has occured after the driver of an articulated petroleum truck died as the truck fell off Soka bridge in Ibadan, Oyo state today November 11.
According to reports, the truck was transporting fuel from Lagos towards Ibadan, on the Lagos-Ibadan highway, but suddenly lost control, fell off the bridge, and plunged into the river leaving the driver dead on the spot.
Confirming the incident, the Head of Disaster management, of Nigerian Security And Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Oyo State Command, Assistant Commandant Shehu Ibn Umar, said the accident could either be as a result of brake failure or fatigue arising from driving a long distance.
