On Sunday, a suspected armed masquerade assaulted a mosque in the Oluode Aranyin district of Osogbo, Osun state, killing one person and injuring many others.
According to reports, a masquerade stoned worshipers before masked gunmen opened fire on them, killing Baba Adini of the mosque, who was just named as Moshood Salawudeen.
The incidence was confirmed by the Imam of the Mosque, Qusum Yunus, to an
Adulawo news correspondent. He said that the Jamaa held a national prayer called "Prayer for the Nation" to pray for Nigeria's mounting insecurity concerns.
The event occurred around 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, according to reports.
