The crisis rocking Ede town has taken another dimension, as hoodlums have attacked the home of one of the leaders of the Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC), shot sporadically and later set it ablaze.
Eyewitnesses told DAILY POST that the house was attacked around 12:30 a.m. on Sunday by hoodlums.
The sources revealed that though the intended target of their attack, Olayiwola Wakil Adesiyan was at home, he escaped being shot.
They stated that nothing was salvaged from the building but that Adesiyan and members of his family were safe and had moved to a secret location.
The Ede B Division of the Osun State Police Command, when contacted, confirmed that they were aware of the attack but added that it was working on how to nab the perpetrators of the dastardly act.
Recall that the violence in Ede started on Thursday when a prospective corps member and HND graduate of the Federal Polytechnic, Ede, Hassan Adedeji and a commercial motorcyclist were gunned down by unknown gunmen suspected to be cultists.
As a result, students of the Polytechnic, on Thursday, took to the streets and violently protested.
