The command’s spokesperson, Florence Okpe, made this known in a statement made available to DAILY POST on Sunday. Okpe noted that the crash, involving a white Toyota Camry with registration number AGL36JA, happened at 11 p.m. on Saturday. She attributed the cause of the crash to excessive speed and overloading of passengers in the car. She said, “A total of seven male adults, one male child, and one female child were involved in the crash. One male child and one female child were killed, while others sustained different forms of injury in the crash.” “The injured victims were taken to General Hospital, Ifo, and the corpses were deposited at the morgue.” The Sector Commander, Akinwumi Fasakin, condemned the crash and described it as a result of the lack of value for life by the driver and passengers, who saw nothing wrong in the car being outrageously overloaded. He urged motorists to avoid overloading their vehicles, whether with goods or passengers, and commiserated with the families of the crash victims.
