The mother of the 22-year-old lady, Miss Oluwabamise Ayanwole, who got missing after boarding a Lagos Bus Rapid Transit vehicle, has demanded justice.

Bamise’s whereabouts had been unknown since she boarded the bus at the Chevron area of Lekki en route to Oshodi on February 25, 2022.

Her corpse was on Monday announced found by the Lagos State Police Command, through the spokesman, CSP Adekunle Ajisebutu, who added that it had been deposited at the morgue of the Mainland Hospital, Yaba, for autopsy.

Adekunle assured the family of the deceased that detectives handling the case would not rest on their oars until her killer is found.

“We, therefore, assure the concerned public and the bereaved family that we are closing on on the culprits and we are sure that soon the suspects would be arrested and made to face justice for this murderous act.

“While soliciting the cooperation of all and sundry, we once again appeal to anyone with additional information that could help the police in arresting the suspects to kindly oblige us. Such information, we assure, will be treated with utmost confidentiality.”

“The Command is ever determined and committed to protection of lives and properties of residents in the state; and has strengthened its security apparatus to prevent a recurrence of this ugly, disturbing incident,” he said.

The police spokesman later declared in a chat that the BRT driver suspected to be involved in Bamise going missing had been arrested.

“The driver of the BRT has been arrested,” Ajisebutu stated.

Meanwhile, a video shared on Twitter by @trafficbutter shows Bamise’s mother wailing while being consoled by some women.

The only word coming out of the mouth of the aggrieved mother was “justice” which she said at the top of her voice while being prevented by the women from hurting herself.
