The government of Benue has ordered the closure of a secondary school in the state following the outbreak of a strange disease.

This comes after at least nine students of a secondary school, Vaatia College in Makurdi reportedly got paralyzed and some hospitalised at Madonna Hospital, a private clinic in the state.

The Commissioner for Health and Human Services, Joseph Ngbea who confirmed the outbreak to Channels Television said some of the students have been discharged while few others are still hospitalised.
