After the Kano State College of Nursing and Midwifery was gutted by fire, several rooms were destroyed.
No less than 16 rooms at the Kano State College of Nursing and Midwifery 's student hostel were destroyed by fire, according to The PUNCH.
The fire was said to have begun on the third floor of the Sa'idu Fagge hostel during the Muslim evening prayer at approximately 6.20 pm on Wednesday. It was gathered that the fire had begun in the bathroom.
The PUNCH was told by a source at the college that the fire burned for over an hour before the Kano Fire servicemen arrived.
The spokesman for the Kano State Fire Service, Sai'du Muhammad, confirmed the incident when contacted.
He said inquiries had started in order to ascertain the cause of the fire and the extent of the damage.
