On Tuesday, the date for the beginning of registration for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) in 2023 was announced by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).
At the conclusion of its management meeting on Tuesday, the board announced some significant dates for its 2023 activities.
It said that the 2023 UTME would start on Saturday, January 14, and end on Tuesday, February 14, 2023.
However, registration for Direct Entry (DE) application documents is not included in this, as DE registration will begin on Monday, February 20th and run through Thursday, April 20th, 2022.
The optional mock UTME was also scheduled for Thursday, March 16, 2023, by the Board.
To prevent candidates from indicating their interest in sitting the mock-UTME, which would cause the various centers to commit human and material resources only for them to stay away on the day of the examination, candidates are reminded that they will be required to pay the sum of N1,000 for CBT centers to conduct the mock examination at the point of registration. Candidates can now indicate their interest by paying for the mock at the time of UTME registration, preventing centers from losing money regardless of whether candidates show up.
In addition, the Board selected Saturday, April 29, 2023, as the date for the 2023 UTME, which is anticipated to conclude on Monday, May 12, 2023, after taking into account its other commitments.
In order to avoid becoming entangled in any ensuing bottleneck, the Board advised all candidates who wish to register for the UTME in 2023 to immediately begin the creation of their respective profiles (creation of profile code).
