The requirements for applying for the 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination and Direct Entry (DE) in Nigeria and abroad have been published by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).

Candidates who meet the requirements can use the application to submit an application for admission to tertiary institutions in Nigeria for the academic year 2023.

Candidates for the UTME can register starting on Saturday, January 14, 2023, and continuing through Tuesday, February 14, 2023.

The vending of PINs for the UTME ends on February 14, 2023, and registration closes on February 17, 2023.

Before beginning the process, candidates must have a personal email address that is both current and functional.

The application period for Direct Entry would run from Monday, February 20, 2023, to Thursday, April 20, 2023.

Only the State and Zone offices of the Board would be places to register for DE.
Requirements General Entry Requirements The general prerequisite for admission to the Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE), first degree, National Diploma (ND), and National Innovation Diploma (NID) programs is five (5) O'level credit passes with English Language included.

For programs in law, science, and social science, credit in mathematics is also required.

Any of the following qualifications may be taken into consideration for admission:

a minimum of an O'level pass in at least two sittings of five (5) SSSC subjects, with two prescribed subjects for each program.

At the A level Examination, awarded by IJMB, Cambridge, JUPEB, or the Institute of Baccalaureate, two passes in the prescribed subjects for each program course of study with three credit passes in the SSSC are required.

Passes in two major subjects in NCE and three others in SSSC and NTC/NBC (primarily for educational and technical programs)

The appropriate O'level and a minimum credit grade in the University/National Diploma or Nation Innovation Diploma are required.
