It has been common that most coppers try to modify their NYSC kits to their desired taste and style whenever it presents itself.

The Director-General of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brig. Gen. Shuaibu Ibrahim, has however warned corp members to desist from defacing the NYSC uniform.

He gave the warning on wednesday, Nov. 6 when he paid and unscheduled visit to the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, in Umunna Anambra state.

The D-G warned that, severe punishment would be meted out to anyone who defaced the uniform.

He also cautioned them against embarking on unauthorized journeys, saying, that was the cause of the deaths most Corp members were involved in.

He also reminded the corp members the importance of regard for authority and due process.

He said; “If you want to travel within Nigeria, it is only the state coordinator that can permit you. If you apply and it’s not granted, stay put.

And If anyone needs to travel outside the country, it is only the D-G that can approve the journey, if not granted, no one is expected to move.
