Award winning script writer, Kemi Adesoye, will be leading other Nigerian filmmakers to South Africa as they are among the 40 participants selected during the week by organizers of the prestigious 36th Durban International Film Festival, DIFF, for the 8th edition of Talents Durban.

The programme is being organized in cooperation with the Berlinale Talents, an initiative of the Berlin International Film Festival. Talents Durban is a five-day development programme made up of workshops and seminars for African filmmakers delivered by film professionals, academics, and intellectuals.

The ‘Talents’, who are selected through a rigorous application process, according to the organizers, will also have the opportunity to attend screenings and events at the festival.

It’s one of the six Talents International programmes formed by Berlinale Talents in Africa and around the world including Talents Beirut in Lebanon, Talents Buenos Aires in Argentina, Talents Sarajevo in Bosnia-Herzegovina, Talents Tokyo in Japan and Talents Guadalajara in Mexico.

Forty filmmakers from ten countries across the continent including South Africa, Kenya, Ghana, Uganda, Nigeria, Tunisia, Zimbabwe, Rwanda, Zambia and Cameroon, will be in attendance.
Other Nigerian filmmakers who are selected alongside Kemi include, Kassim Braimah,Isabella Akinseye, Temotope Ogun and Olawale Oluwadahunsi.

Kemi is widely known for her work in The Figurine, and Phone Swap which won her the best screenplay award at the 2013 Nollywood Movie Awards
