Chris Brown Arrested & Detained In France For Alleged Rape. He was captured in Paris on Monday morning with two other people on suspicion of rape, a French police source said on Tuesday.

The captured were first reported by Closer magazine, which said the three men had been detained after a 24-year-old woman alleged she was raped at Chris’ hotel suite on the night of January 15.

The singer is no stranger to run-ins with the law and has in the past landed in hot water for several charges including assault and misdemeanor assault.

Chris also pleaded guilty to assaulting his then-girlfriend and singer Rihanna, after a pre-Grammy Awards party in 2009.

In 2018 E!Online reported that a woman known only as Cassandra had been granted a temporary restraining order against Chris, who she claimed has been harassing and stalking her. The singer’s attorney said Chris doesn’t even know the woman.

Another woman filed a civil lawsuit against Chris, claiming she was sexually assaulted at the singer’s home. According to E! Chris’ attorney denied the allegations.

Since 2009, Chris has been in trouble with the law over ten times and while some of the cases have been withdrawn, he’s also done jail time and been to rehabilitation centers for some of the charges he’s faced.

BBC Report, He was released without charge in Paris after being questioned on suspicion of rape, French police say.

An investigation into the alleged incident is continuing, the Paris prosecutor's office said.

The star and two other men were arrested on Monday after a 24-year-old woman alleged she was assaulted in a hotel in the city earlier this month.

After his release, Brown took to social media to deny any wrongdoing. "I want to make it perfectly clear, this is false," he wrote on Instagram, alongside a picture that said: "This bitch lyin'."

He added in all-capitals: "I wanna make it perfectly clear...this is false," before going on to say it was "against my character and morals".

Brown's lawyer, Raphael Chiche, said the R&B singer "energetically" professed his innocence and intended to sue for defamation.

The two men arrested with Brown, identified by French media as a bodyguard and a friend, have also reportedly been released.

The alleged incident is said to have occurred at the luxury Mandarin Oriental hotel on 15 January.

This isn't the singer's first encounter with the law - he has a number of previous, high-profile convictions for violence.

He received five years probation and a community service order for assaulting his ex-girlfriend, Rihanna, in his car in 2009.

In 2016, he was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon after a woman told police he had threatened her with a gun.

He was later freed, and his lawyer said the accusations against Brown were "demonstrably false".
