The woman who alleged that Nelly raped her has refused to testify against him in court and is seeking to drop the case.
The lawyer of the alleged rape victim, Khloe Khoeler said her client asked for the case to be dropped because she does not believe in the system anymore.
She said that her client thinks because her case is against a celebrity, nothing will work in her favour.
It was gathered from the letter dated on Friday that the woman’s attorney expressed regret calling 911 and reporting that the rapper had raped her on his tour bus after a concert in Auburn, Washington, on Oct. 7.
According to Khoehler, her client stands by everything she told the police but said she will not be testifying in any criminal case.
The letter read:
Nelly’s lawyer Scott Rosenblum, however, said the accuser only dropped the case when thorough investigations revealed her claims were false.
She called the accuser’s claim a fabrication which has cost Nelly and his family to suffer emotionally and financially.
Rosenblum also demanded a public apology from the woman, and will recommend a Nelly suing her for defamation.
Commander Steve Stocker said that Auburn Police Department will continue to investigate if any crime took place.
“As soon as we’re done with the investigation, we’ll be referring it to the prosecutors.”
