Over the past few weeks, Drake and Kendrick Lamar have engaged in a heated rap feud. An investigation is underway into Drake's expansive Toronto house in the wake of a shooting that happened late last night.
The gunshot happened outside Drake's residence shortly after two in the morning, according to CBC News and City News. Tuesday morning, Toronto Police posted a confirmation of the occurrence on Twitter. Early on Tuesday, police roped up the entrance to the residence on Park Lane Circle in the upscale Bridle Path neighborhood.
The adjacent corner of Bayview and Lawrence avenues was the general location that the police provided. Although they haven't provided any additional information on the case as of yet, police have stated that a suspect fled the scene in a car and that a man was taken to the hospital with critical injuries. A security guard, not Drake, was the victim, according to CBC, which cited a police source.
They add that the first call indicated the victim was a home security guard who seems to have been shot in a drive-by incident. When police came, he was unconscious due to an upper chest gunshot wound. At the hospital, he had emergency surgery.
