Following the shooting death of rapper Kiernan "AKA" Forbes on Friday outside of a well-known restaurant on Durban's Florida Road, KwaZulu-Natal has launched a manhunt for two individuals.

The death of a second person, thought to be AKA's close friend, was confirmed by the police.

Both a 35-year-old well-known musician and a 34-year-old man were killed. The musician and his friend had just left a restaurant when two gunmen opened fire across the street, Colonel Robert Netshiunda, a Provincial SAPS spokesperson, told IOL.

According to Netshiunda, the police are looking into two counts of murder.

He went on to say that the shooting's motivation has not yet been determined.

Rapper Kiernan "AKA" Forbes was killed in a drive-by shooting on Durban's Florida Road on Friday night, according to Durban police sources. The shooting occurred on Florida Road.

Another person who is thought to be AKA's bodyguard was also injured, and another unidentified person who is thought to be a close friend of AKA was shot and killed.

Following AKA's shooting death outside a Durban restaurant on Friday, his parents, Tony and Lynn Forbes, have asked the nation to pray for them. AKA was a South African rapper who was killed in the shooting.

According to IOL, AKA, whose real name is Kiernan Jarryd Forbes, and a friend were shot and killed outside when gunmen approached and fired shots.

"We are deeply saddened to learn of our beloved son's passing and confirm that he passed away tragically and prematurely on February 10, 2023." The Durban police have not yet provided any additional information.

"Kiernan Jarryd Forbes was a father to his cherished daughter Kairo, a son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend to us. He was known by a lot of people as BHOVA, AKA, SUPAMEGA, and other affectionate names.
