There seems to be some drama brewing between Canadian born American rapper Drake and Nigeria’s very own star boy Wizkid.

Now here is where the story begins, Wizkid for a longtime has always referred to himself as “Star Boy”. Suddenly, last year Wizkid gained more international exposure as he wrote and co-produced Drake’s Billboard number one hit song “One Dance”.

The “Star Boy” moniker got a little controversial when Canadian singer Abel Makkonen Tesfaye, better known as The Weeknd, released a single and subsequently an album called “Starboy”. As expected Nigerians reacted to the allege plagiarism of the star boy trademark.

It’s seems Drake is backing fellow Canadian The Weeknd as the real star boy. This alleged beef was brought to notice by a London based social media personality Oyemikke.

Oyemikke in his vlog replayed a video footage at Drake’s concert where he introduced The Weeknd as the real “Star Boy”. Most annoying was the fact he kept emphasizing “the real star boy” as he called The Weeknd on stage for a performance.

You can also recall Drake’s “One Dance” video was shot and Wizkid was obviously not in the video.

While Drake performed at the O2 arena in London he brought to stage UK artistes like Section boys, Kayla but not Wizkid who was present at the venue.

Watch clip below to hear Oyemykke’s thought on the allege beef.
