Leader of the notorious ISIS terrorist group, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi has been killed after US special forces organized a raid into a dead-end tunnel where he ignited an explosive vest, killing himself.

The raid was carried out in north-west Syria last night and the successful operation was announced by President Donald Trump in a Sunday morning address to the nation, describing in detail the daring mission by Army Delta Force commandos that he said had been planned for five months.

“The thug who tried so hard to intimidate others spent his last moments in utter fear, in total panic and dread, terrified of the American forces bearing down on him. Baghdadi’s demise demonstrates America’s relentless pursuit of terrorist leaders and our commitment to the enduring and total defeat of ISIS and other terrorist organizations,” Trump said from the White House
