Police were on patrol when they heard a woman screaming from a side road nearby. The woman pointed in the direction of the two people she thought had robbed her of her cellphone and handbag earlier. The suspects tried to jump into a parked car as the police gave chase. They were caught by police before the driver could get away, and they found that they each had a knife and the complainant's cellphone. Two men, ages 22 and 29, have been arrested on suspicion of robbery and dangerous weapon possession. They are expected to appear in Durban Magistrate's Court on Thursday, February 23. According to Sergeant Zanele Khomo, the suspects have been profiled by police to see if they are connected to any other robberies that have been reported in the Durban Central area. The suspects, who are expected to go on trial on February 23rd, have been apprehended while allegedly committing another robbery as a result of the ongoing investigation by the police.
