After a woman's body was discovered on Campy Bay Beach early on Saturday, police are conducting an investigation. Warrant Officer Joseph Swartbooi, a spokesperson for the Western Cape police, claims that a passerby found the body and that an investigation was underway. However, it is still unknown if the body is that of a woman who vanished into the sea over the weekend at Camps Bay and was never seen again. Following a police report of a missing woman at Camps Bay last week, the National Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI) put together a team. Luke van Riet, commander of the NSRI Bakoven station, stated that police had arrived at the location where eyewitnesses had reported that earlier, around 8.30 p.m., an unidentified white female, probably between the ages of 45 and 50, had entered the water in a white bikini and they had not observed her emerge from it. The investigation keeps going. Call the Camps Bay police station at (021) 437 8150, Crime Stop at (08600) 10111, or the NSRI emergency operations center at (087) 094 9774 if you have information that could help the police.
