LUTH’s Chief Medical Director, Prof. Chris Bode, confirmed this at a joint briefing by the hospital’s management and officials from the state Ministry of Health on Monday. According to the Chief Medical Director, the three patients who tested positive are responding to treatment but never came down with symptoms. Bode said; “Three of the persons who had symptoms have been admitted to the Isolation Ward and are receiving treatment at the Isolation Ward. They are being cared for by a group of professionals, volunteer doctors, epidemiologists, microbiologists, emotional care givers and cleaners all round the clock. And I want to assure the concerned public that they are responding well to treatment. This current outbreak is effectively being traced on the field. Those that are being monitored have been given a thermometer to check their temperature. Let us douse the panic.” He said He further urged Lagosians to keep their surroundings clean and their houses rat free as much as possible, as well as to cover cooked and uncooked food properly.
