A non profit , non governmental international standard free medical centre, Ileogbo set record by performing free Cataract/Pterygium surgery for 50 less privileged people

It was indeed a celebration and jubilation galore last week wednesday when 50 less fortunate patients underwent Cataract/Pterygium surgery free of charge at an international standard clinic located in Ileogbo , the headquarter of Ayedidire Local Government, Osun State. Read my lips ‘I mean f.r.e.e. o.f. c.h.a.r.g.e . The surgical operation which lasted for about 17 hours (7 am to 12 am) was successful without iota of mishap. All beneficiaries are doing excellently well now. A lot of testimonies and commendation are rolling in from the beneficiaries and people around the world. Virtually all the beneficiaries have gone to one or two places but cannot raise the money demanded from them . One of the beneficiaries named Agunbiade Badrat from Mojiga compound ,Ileogbo said and I quote ‘she has been planning to commit suicide if there is no solution to her problem’ I jokingly asked her after the operation ‘Hope you won’t kill yourself again ma and she said a laudable capital ‘YES’.

Today , all the patients are smiling and we are extremely happy to put smile on their faces

In addition, the most talk about free medical centre located in a blossom and prosperous town ,Ileogbo have been providing free screening/check up and treatment in the following ailment for the last two years

1. Hypertension: The clinic have been managing more than 400 hypertensive patients in Ileogbo and its environment for the last two years and I can confirm to you that virtually all of them has moderate blood pressure now. Even those living with severe blood pressure has reduced drastically with proper monitoring

2. Diabetes: About 80 diabetes patients discovered around Iwo , Ileogbo and its environment and all of them are responding to treatment beyond expectation. We have been monitoring the blood sugar of all of our diabetes patients on weekly basis since inception of the program two years ago. All the patients refill their drug weekly or monthly depend on the status of the patients

4. Maternal and Child Education: The clinic as well educate nursing mothers and pregnant women on monthly basis. After educating them about dos and don’ts , each beneficiaries do go home with different gifts such as diapers, toothbrushes for children, medicated creams, treated towel, kits for pregnant women e.t.c. The program is yielding result beyond expectation

5. Eye Treatment: The clinic started eye test and treatment last year where free recommended glasses were given to over 1000 patients on monthly basis. It was during this free recommended glasses outreach we discovered many cataract, pterygium, glaucoma cases .. Due to love and passion to help humanity, we recently operated all the cataract and pterygium cases as aforementioned above. Imagine giving sight to someone you never met’ To me, it is massive and huge to say the least.

We are also treating all the glaucoma cases by giving them medication and educating them by our consultant

6. General acute body pain: Virtually all our patients (over 1000 patient) are victim of this ailment and guess what? We do give medication and education on monthly basis and all of them are responding well.

7. Other ailment: The clinic is also giving medication to other ailments such as rashes, stool, insomnia, headache e.t.c.

Note that we are not only giving treatment, we also educate them

In conclusion, the clinic in its own little way has been rendering services to the have nots and we are committed to continue. We believe your status does not imply that you shouldn’t have access to standard health treatment. We hope and believe both federal and state government of Nigeria will key into this working model. Omoyiola Free Medical Centre located in Ileogbo says thank you to all the donors especially Brother’s brother Foundation, USA, Totalhealth kids, USA e.t.c.
