After unveiling the tracklist for her new album Scarlet earlier today, Doja Cat took the stage at MTV VMAs to perform a medley of her new songs.
The star took the stage at the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J., in a teacher-inspired outfit surrounded by backup dancers dressed in red. She performed her number 1 hit ‘Paint The Town Red’, ‘Attention’ and ‘Demons’ — all tracks will appear on the forthcoming album.
With ‘Red’ going number 1, the achievement marks the first rap Hot 100 No. 1 in over a year, ending the longest break for the genre atop the chart since 2001. Doja Cat was nominated for six awards at this year’s show, including song of the summer for ‘Paint the Town Red’.
