Posted by: Mr. Babatunde« on: November 25, 2020, 01:04:27 AM »The 2021 GRAMMYs nominations are finally here. These are certainly no normal circumstances as we are in the midst of a global pandemic so even award shows have had to do numerous changes. The Recording Academy revealed earlier on Tuesday that on Jan. 31, "The Daily Show" host and GRAMMY-nominated comedian Trevor Noah would host the 63rd GRAMMY Awards. This is the first time that Noah will be hosting The Biggest Night of Music. There is also no news of how the awards will be held because of the pandemic, which was initially expected to fall in L.A. Among a packed public. The 63rd GRAMMY Awards will be shown on the CBS Television Network at 8 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 31, 2021. ET / 5:00 P.M. PT and the Premiere Ceremony® GRAMMY Awards will be broadcast live on GRAMMY.com at 3:00 p.m. ET / 12 p.m. Uh. PT. The 63rd GRAMMY nominees are currently being revealed, so stay tuned as we update them in real time. In June, GRAMMYs announced changes to a few categories: “Best Urban Contemporary Album” was changed to “Best Progressive R&B Album.” and the name “Best Rap/Sung Performance” was altered to “Best Melodic Rap Performance.” The eligibility criteria with regard to the Best New Artist field was also changed. The Recording Academy said it will now “rely on the expertise of the Core and Genre Screening Committees to make the determination as to whether or not an artist had attained prominence in a prior year.” This means that an artist can be considered for the Best New Artist nomination if their eligibility-year release/s achieved a “breakthrough in the musical landscape” according to the committees and now doesn’t necessarily have an upper limit of releases prior. Previously, artists with more than 30 singles/tracks or three albums already released were ineligible for nomination. The minimum number of releases however is five singles/tracks or one album. 2021 GRAMMY Nominees Album of the Year “Chilombo” — Jhené Aiko “Black Pumas (Deluxe Edition)” — Black Pumas “Everyday Life” — Coldplay “Djesse Vol.3” — Jacob Collier “Women in Music Pt.
