An executive known for female-drove comedies like "Bridesmaids" and "Ghostbusters," Paul Feig presently attempts his hand at the spine chiller kind with "A Simple Favor," a secret film that was pitched to Fox 2000 as a work in the vein of "Gone Girl" and "The Girl on the Train."

Like those two noirish pictures, 'Favor' depends on a novel of a similar name, with Fox purchasing the rights to writer Darcey Bell's twisty 2017 presentation before the book's production. Co-composed by Feig and Jessica Sharzer ("American Horror Story"), the movie seems to be the chief's first in finished 10 years to highlight zero Melissa McCarthy. Rather, we'll be getting Anna Kendrick in the part of lead sleuth, inverse Blake Lively and British-Malaysian performing artist Henry Golding, the last of whom will influence his extra large screen to make a big appearance this August in romantic comedy "Insane Rich Asians."

Prior this year at CinemaCon, Kendrick contrasted the tone of the movie with blackly comic wrongdoing flicks "In Bruges" and "Kiss Bang." "It's certainly genuine, the stakes are genuine, it is anything but a farce yet it's as yet interesting," Kendrick disclosed to Flickering Myth, proposing that Feig's most recent won't be an entire takeoff from the executive's jokey past work.

A SIMPLE FAVOR, coordinated by Paul Feig, revolves around Stephanie (Anna Kendrick), a mama vlogger who tries to reveal reality behind her closest companion Emily's (Blake Lively) sudden vanishing from their residential area. Stephanie is joined by Emily's significant other Sean (Henry Golding) in this in vogue spine chiller loaded with turns and double-crossings, insider facts and disclosures, love and unwaveringness, murder and requital.

Kendrick, Lively and Golding star close by Linda Cardellini, Rupert Friend and Eric Johnson. Feig coproduces the film with his standard partner Jessie Henderson, and Lionsgate are taking care of dispersion.
