Sony Releases ‘Night Monkey’ Trailer To Help Promote The Studio’s Little ‘Spider-Man’ Film From The Summer.

Back in July, Sony released what might actually be the most expensive, longest trailer ever. The trailer itself was dubbed “Spider-Man: Far From Home” and in it, the real star was teased— Night Monkey. Fortunately, we get a trailer for the actual movie just a few months later.

Sony has taken all the best components of' Far From Home' as seen in the fresh trailer for "Night Monkey," featuring our hero, Night Monkey, protecting his friends while attending a festival in Europe. NM saves the day and becomes a media lover with his super sleek, spy-tastic black suit.

Kidding aside, this is a pretty damn clever video for Sony to release to promote the digital debut and upcoming Blu-ray release of ‘Far From Home.’ In the wake of all that Sony/Disney headline-making debacle about Spider-Man rights, this is a great way to excite fans with something that would have likely been created by some smart editor on YouTube.

While I was joking about Night Monkey being the star of the show in “Spider-Man: Far From Home” (there’s also incredible performances by Jake Gyllenhaal and Zendaya), the bits about the alter-alter-ego of Peter Parker in Europe were some of the funnier moments in the film. The idea that Ned just randomly came up with the moniker and then it became what the hero was known as just delights comic book fans. At least, it did for me.

Now, would I watch a 2-hour Night Monkey film? I mean, if it starred Tom Holland and was directed by Jon Watts, then yes, yes I would. I’d watch that a million times over if it meant that I didn’t have to see “Venom” again, quite honestly.

“Spider-Man: Far From Home” is out on digital now and will arrive on Blu-ray/4K/DVD/whatever else on October 1.
