However, if you’re someone that just doesn’t know what the hell Netflix is doing with its dark reboot of the classic Archie character, Sabrina Spellman, then why not take three minutes and enjoy the campy, silly, Satanic stylings of the music video for “Straight to Hell.” Instead of one last trailer for the upcoming Part 3 of ‘Chilling Adventures,’ Netflix has decided the best way to promote its very popular YA series is by taking clips from the upcoming episodes and show them off in a new music video for a retro song performed by the series’ star Kiernan Shipka as the title’s teenage witch. Here’s the synopsis for Part 3: Part Three finds Sabrina reeling from the harrowing events of Part Two. Though she defeated her father Lucifer, the Dark Lord remains trapped within the human prison of her beloved boyfriend, Nicholas Scratch. Sabrina can’t live with herself, knowing that Nick made the ultimate sacrifice and is suffering, burning in Hell under Madam Satan’s watchful eye. So with an assist from her mortal friends, “The Fright Club” (consisting of Harvey, Rosalind, and Theo), Sabrina makes it her mission to free him from eternal damnation and bring him back into her arms. However, the Dark Lord’s unseating has sent shockwaves through the realms—and, with no one on the throne, Sabrina must assume the title of “Queen” to defend it against a challenger, the handsome Prince of Hell Caliban. Meanwhile, in Greendale, a mysterious carnival rolls into town, bringing with it a threat to the Spellmans and the coven: A tribe of pagans looking to resurrect an ancient evil… For those that have seen the first two “parts” (the streaming service doesn’t call them seasons), then you know that ‘Sabrina’ is a show that has one foot firmly planted in modern times with stories of sexuality, identity, and Satanism, while also keeping the other foot established in this timeless setting that feels like it could either be 1955 or the present day. And in that case, “Straight to Hell” does a great job of bridging that gap and showcasing that ‘Chilling Adventures’ isn’t your typical soapy teen drama. Instead, it’s your typical soapy teen drama with a fresh coat of camp and retro painted over it. “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina” Part 3 arrives on Netflix on January 24.
