Brazilian judge on Wednesday ordered Netflix to remove the controversial Christmas film, First Temptation of Christ, for depicting Jesus as a gay man.
The Netflix comedy movie, “First Temptation of Christ” depicts Jesus as a gay man was produced by YouTube comedy channel Porta dos Fundos and it has gathered a huge backlash after it was aired in Brazil, sparking about two million people to sign a petition for the movie to be taken down as its jokes are being “seriously offensive” to Christians.
It can be recalled that on Tuesday, 24 December 2019, there was a targeted gasoline bomb attack on the producers of a Netflix comedy starring gay Jesus.
Netflix has now been ordered to remove the movie that some called blasphemous for depicting Jesus as a gay man and which prompted the attack.
The ruling by Rio de Janeiro judge, Benedicto Abicair, on Wednesday responded to a petition by a Brazilian Catholic organization that argued the “honor of millions of Catholics” was hurt by the film.
