Marvel superheroes are currently taking over the silver screen with “Black Panther” and now “Avengers: Infinity War.” However, they are also taking over the small screen as well. In addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe shows on Netflix, there’s also “Agents of SHIELD” on ABC and “Runaways” on Hulu. Now, we can add the upcoming “Cloak & Dagger” on Freeform as well.

Cloak and Dagger are not exactly the most well known Marvel heroes. But they do have an incredible power set. Cloak, played by Aubrey Joseph, can engulf others in darkness and transport them to what is called the Darkforce dimension. Dagger, played by Olivia Holt, has the ability to create light daggers with her hands. The way their powers combine both the light and dark should make them a formidable threat to any villain.

The two characters are told, in the new trailer, that they’re facing a threat that could cause one of them to lose their lives. That means “Cloak & Dagger” is going to possess some high stakes. Along with the visual effects, the storyline should make this season an intriguing, and fun, watch. The actors playing our main heroes seem to be charismatic enough to hold our attention, as well.

Because of its fortuitous premiere date (right after “Avengers: Infinity War” put the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the public consciousness in a big, big way), “Cloak & Dagger” will allow Marvel fans to get their superhero fix until “Ant-Man And The Wasp” hits theaters later in the summer. After “Cloak & Dagger,” hopefully, more unsung Marvel heroes will get their moment in the sun.

“Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger” is the story of Tandy Bowen (Olivia Holt) and Tyrone Johnson (Aubrey Joseph) – two teenagers from very different backgrounds, who find themselves burdened and awakened to newly acquired superpowers which are mysteriously linked to one another. Tandy can emit light daggers and Tyrone has the ability to engulf others in darkness. They quickly learn they are better together than apart, but their feelings for each other make their already complicated world even more challenging. “Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger” stars Olivia Holt, Aubrey Joseph, Andrea Roth, Gloria Reuben, Miles Mussenden, Carl Lundstedt, Emma Lahana, Jaime Zevallos, and J.D. Evermore. The series will premiere on Thursday, June 7 (8:00pm – 10:00pm ET/PT) and is co-produced by Marvel Television and ABC Signature Studios.
