On Law & Order's season 13 episode "Hitman," detectives Lennie Briscoe (Jerry Orbach) andEd Green (Jesse L. Martin) suspect a young bride (Gretchen Egolf) and her lover (Bobby Cannavale) put out a contract on her husband. The episode was based on the real life killing of investment banker Ted Ammon in 2001. Executive Producer Dick Wolf and Shed Media will give an inside look at the world of contract killings when the new original series Murder for Hire debuts on Oxygen on Sunday, April 7 at 7 p.m. “Some of the most horrifying crimes are crimes of passion and money, and we are the first to explore in depth the motives and tactics used in these ‘murders for hire,’" Wolf said in a statement. "Viewers will be stunned when they understand the lengths to which aggrieved parties go to get revenge.” Featuring rare, never-before-seen footage, Murder for Hire will explore how "a seemingly good relationship can go wrong and the emotions surrounding the reveal when an intended victim discovers a hit has been taken on their life."
