The cast, per The Playlist, “stars Song Kang-ho, an actor who has worked with the director on the films “Snowpiercer” and “The Host.” He’s joined by Jang Hye-jin as the wife, Park So-dam and Choi Woo-shik, best known his work in “Okja” and “Train to Busan,” as the married couple’s children. Rounding out the cast are Lee Sun-kyun and Jo Yeo-jeong.”

This trailer doesn’t really clue you in to anything (unless you speak Korean), but visually it’s as impressive as Bong’s other movies. Even when the whole film doesn’t work for me, I’m grateful I’ve seen it. He’s a director whose work demands to be seen, and I’m eager to see what he’s put together here. There’s no release date for the U.S., but the film is rumored to premiere at Cannes this year, and I wouldn’t be surprised if it showed up on the Fall festival circuit.

The first Korean trailer has gone online for Parasite, the new movie from director Bong Joon-ho. After a brief sojourn making English-language movies with Snowpiercer and Okja, Bong has returned to his native Korea for his latest film. The trailer is entirely in Korean, but The Playlist has these details on the plot:

Quote
We already know that “Parasite” is a film about one family with “unique characteristics.” That’s all that’s really been said. A little bit of research about the plot would tell you that the story follows a young man and his unemployed family as they become obsessed with another family. Then when something happens (probably involving blood and violence, as seen briefly in the trailer), the young man and his family become entangled in a bit of a mess.
What do you think of the Parasite trailer? Are you excited to see Bong’s latest movie? Sound off in the comments.
