Esme Creed-Miles is a newcomer with very few credits to her name. An appearance in Harmony Korine‘s forgotten “Mister Lonely” and parts in features such as “Dark River” and “Pond Life,” so it’s an interesting choice to give her the lead.
“Hanna” is an adaptation of the 2011 action adventure thriller film that contains some prominent fairy tale elements, directed by Joe Wright (“Anna Karenina“) and starred Saoirse Ronan. A Black List script by Seth Lochhead and David Farr, “Hanna” read like teenage Jason Bourne, a very-actiony thriller. Wright being Wright injected the movie with a fanciful fairy tale vibe to put his stamp on it, but one gets the sense, having read that original screenplay, that was never the intention
“Hanna” earns some extra cool points in the music department too. The original had a block-rockin’ beats score by the Chemical Brothers and this new series version features an original song, an “Anti-Lullaby,” by Yeah, Yeah, Yeahs frontwoman Karen O. Check out the new trailer
