‘The Wave’ Trailer: Justin Long Experiences A Bad Trip In The Psychedelic Film Coming To Fantastic Fest

Films often indicate that someone is high by using strange camera angles and maybe some strange blurring impacts. However, in the upcoming Fantastic Fest movie, "The Wave," once our lead character gets high, the whole film shifts into this psychedelic journey that seeks to echo the strangest dreams that you've ever had.

In the fresh "The Wave" trailer, we discover that the movie follows a young lawyer named Frank who is peer-pressed to take an illegal drug from a shady person wearing a fur coat. His entire world shifts from there as he starts to hallucinate more and more. This leads Frank to a search to find out where the dealer is now and what drug he has taken.

Oh yeah, and he has to navigate his typical workday and social life. Not the easiest thing in the world for someone that is barely holding onto his own sanity.

The film stars Justin Long, Donald Faison, Tommy Flanagan, Sheila Vand, Katia Winter, and Ronnie Gene Blevins. “The Wave” is written by Carl W. Lucas and is the feature debut for director Gille Klabin.

“The Wave” is set to debut at this year’s Fantastic Fest in Austin.

Here’s the synopsis:

Frank (Justin Long), an opportunistic insurance lawyer, thinks he’s in for the time of his life when he goes out on the town to celebrate a soon-to-be promotion with his co-worker, Jeff (Donald Faison), but their night takes a turn for the worst when Frank is dosed with a hallucinogen that alters his perception and changes his life forever. He is thrown into a psychedelic quest through board meetings, nightclubs, shootouts, and alternate dimensions. As Frank ping-pongs across reality, he finds himself on a mission to find a missing girl, himself… and his wallet.
