Operation Finale’ Trailer: Oscar Isaac & Ben Kingsley Star In Film About The Hunt For A Nazi War Criminal. It’s been seven years since filmmaker Chris Weitz has stepped behind the camera to direct a feature film. Back in 2011, Weitz released “A Better Life,” which garnered an Academy Award nomination. Now, he hopes to repeat that success later this year when “Operation Finale” hits theaters. And judging by the first trailer, things are looking good for the film.

“Operation Finale” tells the true story of the Mossad’s attempt to capture one of Hitler’s top lieutenants after World War II, Adolph Eichmann, played by Ben Kingsley. The former Nazi had escaped after the war and found refuge in Argentina. That’s where Peter Malkin, played by Oscar Isaac, puts together a team to capture the criminal and bring him back to Israel for trial.

The trailer for the film does a great job of teasing the mission. The opening scene of the trailer just paints a picture of why Eichmann was such a despicable person. And the footage also shows just how great the cast is in “Operation Finale.” Isaac and Kingsley are joined in the film by Mélanie Laurent, Lior Raz, Nick Kroll, Peter Strauss, and Haley Lu Richardson.

As mentioned above, “Operation Finale” is directed by Weitz, who has been keeping busy over the last seven years writing the films “The Mountain Between Us,” “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story,” and “Cinderella.”

“Operation Finale” will be released on September 14.

Here’s the synopsis:

This thrilling true story follows the 1960 covert mission of legendary Mossad agent Peter Malkin as he infiltrates Argentina and captures Adolf Eichmann, the Nazi officer who masterminded the transportation logistics that brought millions of innocent Jews to their deaths in concentration camps.
