Recently, Netflix released the trailer for the upcoming TV series, “Requiem,” and it looks like the newest series is going to appeal to those that enjoy something more dark and scary. Here’s how Netflix describes the series: “’Requiem’ follows award-winning cellist Matilda Gray (Lydia Wilson) as she seeks to solve the mystery behind her mother’s suicide. Evidence linking her mother to the unsolved case of a missing child in Wales is just the beginning of Matilda’s dark journey to the truth.” While the “Requiem” trailer makes no mention of the main character’s cello-playing abilities, the focus of the series seems to be on a creepy house, with plenty of jump scares. The series was originally broadcast on BBC One last month and will be released on Netflix at the end of this month. Those who complain that Netflix series tend to run a little long should be happy that this series is just six one-hour episodes. Compared to other series on the streaming service, “Requiem” could be knocked out in a day, easily. Joining Lydia Wilson in the cast is Joel Fry, James Frecheville, Sian Reese-Williams, and Brendan Coyle. Mahalia Belo directed all six episodes. “Requiem” is set to release all episodes on Netflix on March 23.
