t’s just shy of a year since Netflix canceled the Wachowski siblings’ science fiction drama/web television series “Sense8” after two seasons that ended inconclusively. Facing low ratings, the show still had a fairly vociferous cult following and thanks to online petitions and all that kind of fan buzz, the streaming giant agreed to let the Wachoswki’s finish the show off with a two-hour finale.

“Improbably, unforeseeably, your love has brought ‘Sense8 back to life,” series co-creator Lana Wachowski wrote in mid-June of 2017 after Netflix agreed to let the filmmakers have some finality.  Creators and showrunners Lana and Lilly Wachowski and J. Michael Straczynski will wrap things up with a feature-length finale. And as the new trailer shows, the sensates are back for one last mission.

The show’s first season introduced a multinational ensemble cast, with Aml Ameen, Doona Bae (from the Wachowski’s “Cloud Atlas“), Jamie Clayton, Tina Desai, Tuppence Middleton, Max Riemelt, Miguel Ángel Silvestre and Brian J. Smith portraying eight strangers from different parts of the world who suddenly become “sensates”; human beings who are mentally and emotionally linked.

Here’s the very short synopsis:
About the finale: Personal lives are pushed aside as the cluster, their sidekicks, and some unexpected allies band together for a rescue mission and BPO take-down in order to protect the future of all Sensates.

The “Sense8” series finale launches globally on June 8, only on Netflix. Here’s the trailer.
