It’s also intriguing to consider how further The Duffer Brothers will push the envelope of their increasingly-consistent style. Season Two did a wonderful job of expanding this very specific universe, but all within the same mold and style we expected from the first season.

The children of “Stranger Things” provide the emotional thread to string the audience together, and considering where Season Two left off, we could perhaps see an even further maturation of the kids as they develop in Season Three, similar to the structure of the “Harry Potter” films, with each installment becoming less childish and more “grown-up.”

One aspect that has always been a drawing magnet for those to the series is the ever-vibrant soundtrack, provided by Michael Stein and Kyle Dixon alongside carefully curated tracks capturing the ’80s aura. Ideally, a perfect Season Three would not only expand on these trademarks of the pertinent series, but find new areas within its culture and environment to explore. Season Three will most likely find the children in 1985, the mid-point of the era. The Duffer’s are such formidable connoisseurs of this decade that this mid-point must surely mean a shift or transition in timely trends.

Appropriately, little is known about the synopsis of Season Three, but actor Noah Schnapp had this to hint about what to expect:

“Oh yeah, it’s brutal,” he teased to MTV News. “It gets bad, it’s very big. I feel like every season it kinda gets more like it’s taking over Hawkins. I don’t think anyone in our show gets a break, that’s kind of what it’s about. So I can’t really say I get to just relax by the beach. I have to go through something otherwise people are gonna stop watching.”

“Stranger Things: Season Three” will be released on July 4th, 2019 on Netflix.
