Joining Malkovich in the series’ cast are Rupert Grint, Andrew Buchan, Eamon Farren, and Jack Farthing. “The ABC Murders” is written by Sarah Phelps, who has a ton of TV experience under her belt, and directed by Alex Gabassi, who is probably best known for the recent miniseries “The Frankenstein Chronicles.” Instead of Branagh as the hero of the series, the famous detective Poirot is portrayed by John Malkovich in the new series. In the first trailer, we’re introduced to his version of the detective, as well as his accent, and the latest mystery he has to solve – the ABC murders. The not-so-cleverly named crimes feature victims that are murdered in the same sequence of the alphabet. Hopefully, your name begins with a Z, that way you have plenty of time before the killer comes for you, right? The new Amazon series, “The ABC Murders” hits the streaming service on February 1, 2019.
